Black Graduation is an annual celebration started in 2019 by Rabiyatu Jalloh in 2019. It is a Hakkille Robing Ceremony held FOR Black students BY Black students. Black Graduation is an event that celebrates graduating undergraduate and graduate students that identify with being part of the African Diaspora. In the presentation we acknowledge that that these achievements are made possible by the support of family, friends and loved ones. This “passing of the torch” recognizes the contributions and sacrifices of our ancestors on whose shoulders we continue to stand in pursuit of our goals. We hold this ceremony to honor the accomplishments and preserve the legacies of Black students at The Pennsylvania State University.
