The Ashe Awards began December 6th, 2009 with our first Annual Ashe Awards.  Ashe is a Yoruba word that means conceiving power or producing change.Upon its first show, there were 300 students in attendance. Years after the Ashe Awards has been a positive staple in the community, every year bringing students to celebrate the presentation of superlatives within the POC community. Every year during Ashe season Black Caucus also holds a Rap Cyher.
